Redskins vs. Titans: 6 Things to Watch

Less than an hour away till kickoff for the Redskins' first preseason game! While I'm excited just to have football back it still is only preseason. Here are some things to watch during the game..

1. David Amerson, Phillip Thomas, and Bacarri Rambo will all be starting the game tonight, although Amerson and Thomas only because of injuries to those ahead of them on the depth chart. Rambo of course is currently #1 on the depth chart at the free safety position.

2. The left and right tackle positions should be interesting with Trent Williams sitting out with an injury. While, Tom Compton will not likely have to start any regular season games he is still an important player to watch. If he can progress that depth at one of the most important positions will be big. Meanwhile, Tyler Polumbus has a significant lead to again start at right tackle this season but preseason games are big opportunities to lose or gain a lot of ground.

3. Kirk Cousins will only be playing 10-15 snaps this game but it will be key for the Redskins that he continues his progression. With RGIII's injury history it is important to have a talented backup. Maybe even more importantly Cousins could prove to be a valuable trade piece at some point in the future.

4. The running back battle will be interesting to watch. Morris is clearly the #1 back and will not be playing tonight either but watch to see how Roy Helu does and if he can solidify his spot as the #2 running back.

5. The receiving battle will be interesting as well. Can Aldrick Robinson make a big statement about his ability to play a bigger part in this offense?

6. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy because football is back! Even if its only preseason.
