Ranking NFC East Quarterbacks

Let me first explain that these rankings are not based purely on future projections or past successes. I used both to help me rank them but the main theme will be the who is the best QB for this season. I will only be ranking starting quarterbacks/projected starting quarterbacks.

1. Tony Romo - I know as a Redskins fan it is blasphemous to ranking Romo at #1 but as I try to be subjective I can't rank anyone else here. Romo has but up monster stats in the regular season and while he hasn't yet proven he can win big games not all of that is his fault. He does have his turnover problems but those seem to come in only in some games. While he had a 5, 4, and 3 interception games last year he also had 7 games with no interceptions including a three game streak without throwing one. He has a lot of talent and with the emergence of Dez Bryant he should only be better this year. If he can keep down his turnovers just a little bit the Cowboys should show a lot of improvement in play and record.

2. Robert Griffin III - In all honesty Griffin probably would have been ranked number 1 if it wasn't for his injuries. He was hit too often last season for me to be completely confidant that he can stay healthy for a whole season. However, when it comes to pure talent none of these quarterbacks can match him. His speed and running ability is what stands out but he is also extremely accurate and has a cannon for an arm. As he continues to develop and if he stays healthy there will be no doubt who the best quarterback in the NFC East is. Most importantly though, he doesn't turn the ball over like the other 3 quarterbacks in the East.

3. Eli Manning - Giants Fans will be outraged that Manning is #3 but to be honest I don't care. They will argue that he has 2 rings and 2 super bowl mvps. I will fully admit that if this list was who would you most like to have in the postseason Manning would be #1 but the problem is to win in the postseason you have to get there. I don't have confidence that Manning can win enough regular season games to make it far enough for his postseason heroics to matter. He has never posted a competition percentage above 63, something RGIII did in his first year and Romo has done 6 of the last 7 years. He is wildly inconsistent and while Romo is the one who has the bad rap for tuning the ball over Manning has recorded double digit interceptions every year he has been in a starter in NFL including 2 seasons with more than 20. Manning is not a bad quarterback but he is not as good as Griffin or Romo especially going into this year. He does, however, have the best receiving core in the NFC East if Nicks can stay healthy.

4. Michael Vick - Vick has a history of everything you don't want your quarterback to have a history of. He turns the ball over and he hasn't played a full 16 game season since his days in Atlanta. With Chip Kelly improvement should be expected but there is nothing that Vick has shown that inspires confidence in me. The problem is that the Eagles don't have a better quarterback on there roster.
