One Last Attempt at the Redskins 53 Man Roster

Offense
QBs: Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins, Rex Grossman (3)

No change here. Pat White may make a roster on some team but it won't be this one. Grossman is a strong 3rd string QB. Cousins and RGIII are a given.

RBs/FB: Alfred Morris, Roy Helu Jr., Darrell Young, Keiland Williams, Chris Thompson (5)

I'll keep Williams on instead of Royster though. Royster looked good last night and Williams sprained his shoulder so was unable to respond. However, Williams is the better special team player. Seems silly to me to keep 5 RBs if one of them is only there in case of injury and can't contribute on special teams.

WR: Pierre Garçon, Josh Morgan, Leonard Hankerson, Aldrick Robinson, Santana Moss (5)

I really like Dezmon Briscoe but he has been in consistent and ended up leaving the Tampa game with a shoulder sprain. If he had been in the game longer he might have been able to earn himself a spot but I don't see that happening now. Lance Lewis and Nick Williams look like practice squad guys.

TE: Fred Davis, Logan Paulsen, Niles Paul, Jordan Reed (4)

Despite what Randle El said last night these 4 are basically locks. Paul helps out on special teams and has really improved overall while Reed has made some athletic plays.

OL: Trent Williams, Kory Lichtensteiger, Will Montgomery, Chris Chester, Tyler Polumbus, Tom Compton, Adam Gettis, Josh LeRibeus, Tony Pashos (9)

If Maurice Hurt returns Pashos is probably gone. But for now he should have a roster spot because he played well enough last night to keep over an extra receiver. He could be let go in order to make room for another defensive back as well. LeRibeus has had his struggles but the Skins spent a 3rd round pick on him in 2012 so he is here to stay for now.

Defense
DL: Stephen Bowen, Barry Cofield, Kedric Golston, Chris Neild, Chris Baker, Phillip Merling (6)

These guys are all safe for now. Merling will probably get cut when Jenkins returns though.

ILB: London Fletcher, Perry Riley, Bryan Kehl, Nick Barnett (4)

Again all 4 of these guys are set in stone.

OLB: Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan, Darryl Tapp, Brandon Jenkins (4)

Rob Jackson will return and make this group even deeper which is a little scary. Tapp may be at risk when Jackson returns but I think the cut will come somewhere else.

CB: DeAngelo Hall, Josh Wilson, David Amerson, EJ Biggers, Chase Minnifield (5)

Minnifield has a job partially because of the injury to Crawford, though I'm not convinced he wouldn't have made the team anyway. Jerome Murphy could sneak in and get a spot but I don't think the Skins need to or want to carry 6 CBs.

S: Bacarri Rambo, Brandon Meriweather, Reed Doughty, Jose Gumbs, Jordan Pugh (5)

Maybe I'm a bit bias because I don't really like DeJon Gomes but I'm picking Gumbs to win the spot over him. It's possible neither make the team and Murphy gets the job a corner but I doubt it. There has been a lot of talk about Tanard Jackson but I just can't buy it at this point. He hasn't played football and there is no guarantee that he will be reinstated. It's something to watch but until more comes out about him I wouldn't expect him to be on this team.

Special Teams: Kai Forbath (K), Sav Rocca (P), Nick Sundberg (LS) (3)

These 3 are solid and have had their jobs locked up for a long time.
