Redskins Fantasy Football

Fantasy Football has almost become the 2nd most popular sport in the US with Football being #1. So, I thought it would be good to touch on the Redskins players and their fantasy football value.

1. Alfred Morris - Morris is without a doubt the most valuable Redskin in fantasy. He has very little down side with no real injury problems and has clearly separated himself as the bell cow of the Redskins run game. The only "problem" with Morris is that he will rarely be a receiving or 3rd down threat. Roy Helu should be the 3rd down back this year and because of this there is a worry that Morris will lose carries. Realistically Morris's carries will go down some but not because of third downs. Last year he only had 17 carries on 3rd down. While this probably puts Morris behind the likes of Foster, Martin, and Peterson he is still a great 1st round pick. In drafts so far he actually seems to be pretty underrated.

2. RGIII has the possibility of being a steal in the draft this year. He put up great numbers last year but his injuries have scared many from drafting him. While injury is a risk you have to hope that he has learned to slide or get out of bounds more often. The other risk he brings is that he may not run as much as last year and his points may go down as a result. However, there are plenty of positives that he brings to the table that you can't ignore. He will continue to run and is always capable of a big play and RGIII doesn't turn the ball over so, he will not lose you points often. Overall, he could be a great later round pick up and could very well end up being your back up QB. If it's a late round and he is still there take him.

3. Pierre Garçon - Garçon is one of those players that is hard to predict. He is healthier this year and in limited time last year looked good enough to be a #2 fantasy receiver. If Garçon can pick up where he left off last year he might be another value pick later in the draft. Not to mention he and Griffin have had another year to build a report and worked out together even when both were injured.

4. Fred Davis - Fred Davis is a player you might not even need to draft if you want him. A lot of people have forgotten about him and he hasn't really proven himself yet. If Davis can stay out of trouble and stay healthy he has the skill set to be a great tight end. Don't bother drafting him until late or just pick him up off of waivers if you need another tight end. Should be a great value pick.
