Projecting the Depth Chart: Offense

Kirk Cousins
Offense

QB: RGIII
Backup: Krik Cousins

This one is easy. Assuming RGIII is healthy he is the starter. If not then Cousins will get his chance to show the league what he has to offer.

RB: Alfred Morris
Backup: Roy Helu
Alfred Morris

Alfred Morris is the clear starter here. However, it will be interesting who backs him up. Will it be Roy Helu who has shown flashes but has had health issues and hasn't shown that he will ever be healthy through an entire season or will it be one of the rookies.  My bet is on Helu winning the spot but don't be surprised if Chris Thompson makes some noise and pushes Helu. Royster was the main backup in Helu's absence but I have to believe the Shanahans were not overly impressed with him considering the drafted two RB's this year.

WR: Pierre Garçon, Leonard Hankerson, Josh Morgan
Backup: Santana Moss, Aldrick Robinson

Pierre Garçon
Garçon is the go to guy at this point.  The Redskins wen 9-1 when he started and he has clearly shown the ability to make the big play from both deep throws and short ones. Morgan will most likely split time with Moss in the slot and with Hankerson on the outside.  It seems as though the Redskins are really betting on Hankerson taking a big step forward this year or maybe they had a free agent they liked but didn't have the money to grab him.  No one outside of Garçon seems to be much of a threat so if the OL can play like it did last year (or even better) look for whoever is QB to throw to the TE's.

TE: Fred Davis
Backup: Logan Paulsen

Fred Davis
Fred Davis's career has been filled with issues. He has had both injuries and drug suspensions.  He seems to have the talent to be a great receiving threat and has shown that he can be a go to guy. However, if Davis can't stay healthy and really produce this year I would not expect him to be back next year.  That said, he may be the 2nd best receiver on the team and will be a great weapon for RGIII and Cousins.  Behind him Paulsen is a great blocker and showed he can make a few plays now and then in the receiving game.  Niles Paul doesn't seem to be showing much promise so far but I wouldn't count him out yet.  Jordan Reed will probably see a few snaps at TE and HB but he seems to be more of a work in progress and maybe make a larger impact later in the years or next year.

OL: Trent Williams, Kory Lichtensteiger, Will Montgomery, Chris Chester, Tyler Polumbus
Backup: Josh LeRibus, Maurice Hurt, Jeremy Trueblood, Tom Crompton

Trent Williams
Williams finally stepped up in a big way and had a probowl year and made a name for himself as one of the top LT's in the league. Lichtensteiger and Montgomery also had good years.  Chester is solid, but Polumbus still needs to improve for this line to be considered better than average.  If Polumbus can take a step or two this season the O-line will no longer be the huge weakness it has been for years.  LeRibus seems to have potential to take one of the OG spots in the next few years.  While I am feeling positive about the line it still should not be confused for a strength.
