Redskins Draft Recap by pick: Brandon Jenkins, Bacarri Rambo, Jawan Jamison

Round 5 (162 Overall) Brandon Jenkins DE/OLB -This pick is another value pick for the Redskins. Jenkins was a productive pass rusher at Florida State and looks to be an OLB for the Skins. Jenkins won't be a starter anytime soon but will provide valuable depth behind Orakpo, Kerrigan, and Jackson. He is quick and has strength to fight off blocks in both run and pass rush. The major problem is Jenkins had a left foot injury in 2012 and saw a drop in production from 2010 (13.5 sacks) to 2011 (8 sacks).

Jenkins seems like a good situational pass rusher who will play only to spell Orakpo or Kerrigan.  The pick seems like a solid grab in the 5th round but I do not expect him to make a major impact anytime soon.

Round 6 (191 Overall) Bacarri Rambo S - Rambo is possibly the best pick of the entire draft for the Redskins. Besides having the name Rambo he is a great prospect at safety. Rambo was a star at Georgia and has the ability to play either SS or FS. He is good in coverage and a solid tackler.

Rambo will be given a chance to earn a startin role right away though I expect him to be mostly in a back up role his rookie year. His biggest problem is that he has had some off the field issues specifically drug related.  The Redskins have recently dealt with players with drug issues so hopefully it will be an environment that can be supportive specifically with Trent Williams really turning it around last year after his suspension. Rambo could end up being one of the big steals of the draft.

Round 7 (228 Overall) Jawan Jamison RB - Shanahan seems to be unconvinced with the RB's outside of Alfred Morris as Jamison is the 2nd RB he drafted this year. Jamsion unlike Chris Thompson  does not have the receiving or home run ability. He is small with a height of 5'7" and weighing a little over 200 lbs. However he does have the ability to make quick cuts and reads which is the kind of back that works well in Shanahan's zone system.

Despite being out of Rutgers Jamison does not have much in common with Ray Rice.  Unfortunately, I do not expect much from Jamison other than to provide competition and maybe make his way into the RB rotation.
