Adam Carriker Placed on PUP List

Another day and another problem with my depth chart predictions. It seems that Adam Carriker has faced a setback in his recovery from a ruptured quadricep tendon. This makes Jarvis Jenkins the clear starter for now and puts Carriker's ability to play early on this season in doubt. Carriker was often an after thought when talking about injured Redskin defensive players last season but that was and is a mistake. He made a strong contribution to the defense in 2011 specifically when it came to pass rushing. That season he recorded a career high 5.5 sacks after only sacking the quarterback 3 and 1/2 times in his first three season with the Rams. It appeared that Carriker might be reaching at least some of the potential that made him the 13th pick in the 2007 draft. While reports so far say that Jenkins looks faster and stronger this year it is still at the very least a hit to depth along the defensive line.
